For this weeks challenge I was inspired to create a fall themed card. On this card I am highlighting the new Halloween distress pearlescent crayons and the new Sizzix 3-D embossing folder acorn. Since our theme is stamping for this week’s challenge I wanted the focal point of this card to feature the stamp set floral elements and for the sentiment I used a stamp from the set noteworthy. For video demo click here.

For this project I used stamped at noteworthy CMS 446, floral elements CMS 4456, embossing folder 3-D acorn, distress pearlescent crayons glowing ember, harvest moon, peppermint stick, and walnut stain, distress sprayer, distress oxide uncharted mariner, distress Mica spray stains harvest moon, glowing Ember, fortune teller , wicked elixir, Iron-gate, distress white heavy stock, Idea-ology metallic craft stock, and collage medium.

Just start the background of our card I decided to use a Tim Holtz technique using an embossing folder with distress oxide smooshed on the interior. For oxide ink I used uncharted mariner.
On the inside of the embasing folder I smushed the oxide ink on the flat part of the embossing surface. Then I placed a piece of distress white heavy stock paper in the folder and ran it through the vagabond die cutting machine three times.

Here are the results of the Embossing Folder and Distress Oxide ink. As you can see the distress oxide ink transferred from the embossing folder onto the paper leaving the raised portions of the design unaltered.
For the leaves I decided to add colour with some of the new Tim Holtz Pearlescent Distress Halloween Crayons. Four colours I used burning ember, harvest Moon, peppermint stick, and Crooked broomstick
Then using my fingers I rubbed the distress crayon onto the leaves.
Here are the results from using the distress Pearlescent Crayons.
To make the texture on the Bostpiece of paper pop I added a slight scribbling of distress walnut stain crayon. This too I gently rubbed onto the paper with my fingers to highlight the ridges of the leaves. After I then layered the leafy background on top of a piece of metallic kraft stock. The craft stock was cut at 4 1/4“ x 5 1/2“ the embossed background was cut at 4“ x 5 1/4“.

Now onto our main focal point. For the focal point I die cut some distressed white heavy stock into the shape of an oval and paired it with the stamp set CMS 445 floral elements.

Next ice stamped some of the floral elements with distress black soot archival ink.
Next to add colour I’ve decided to use some of the Distress mica Spray Stains as a watercolour. I used the colours fortuneteller, burning ember, harvest moon, and wicked elixir.

Below are the finished results from watercoloring with Distress mica Spray Stains. The added shine of the mica makes this the perfect centrepiece for this fall inspired card.
To finish off the focal point I decided to edge the oval with some burning ember distress mica crayon.
For the last element of the card I added a sentiment with steps at CMS 446 noteworthy.

Just step the sentiment I used some uncharted mariner distress oxide ink. Below is the completed card created to the theme of stamped with love.

Thank you so much for joining me here today at the crafty corner. Until next time, we happy crafting!
