TFJ: Favourite Products 2023

Image
Welcome to TFJ Inspiration Ave Blog. Today we’re going to be talking about our favourite Tim Holtz products for the year of 2023. This, of course is not easy because there have been so many wonderful products released this year. However, there are two that I’ve definitely found their way into my crafting pretty much year-round And those include Papercut café and distress glazes. There was a new set of 12 glazes release this year and there are so many great colours to play with that. I wanted to feature some of them today along with the Papercut Café die set. TFJ: Holiday Homecoming

Image
Hello and welcome! This week at The Funkie Junkie Inspiration Ave we are creating to the theme of “Home for the Holidays”. I was inspired by some childhood memories of making gingerbread houses and wanted to create a vintage style one with the Sizzix village collection die set.  If you would like to see more in-depth details click video link here . Materials used: Sizzix village collection die set, Ranger opaque grit paste, opaque texture paste, snowfall grit paste, distress glitter, distress paint picket fence, squeezed lemonade, kitsch flamingo, tumbled glass, cracked pistachio, and gathered twigs, distress crayon walnut stain, kraft stock, Idea-ology confections, collage medium, hot glue, and silicone frosting applicator. To start our gingerbread project I am first creasing all of the tabs on the house. I like to use the edge of something solid to help with making the crease. I have also found the Idea-ology remnant rub tool to also be useful when folding and creasing. Next we will

TFJ: Deck The Halls

This week for TFJ Inspiration Ave we are creating to the theme of “Deck the Halls”. Here I have created a Christmas themed reliquary dome. If you would like to see a step by step tutorial click the link here . For this project I used: a reliquary dome, salvaged soldier, vintage bells, confections, pine twine, iron gates, faceted stars, bottle brush trees, baubles, bubbles,  distress glitter, snowfall texture paste, collage medium, hot glue, tinfoil, and twine.   For this Christmas project I am starting with a base of a reliquary dome. I chose this because it has a large base to work with and great height to build upwards with. To start I crumpled up some tinfoil to make the foundation of some snowy hills. I then attached the tinfoil with a surebonder hot glue gun. Once the structure for the hills was in place I then added a bottle brush tree. I attached the tree with more hot glue and pushed the base into the tinfoil. After the tree was in place I then covered the tinfoil and cork base
